What is a Cooperative Preschool?

A Cooperative Preschool is a preschool that is run by the enrolled families. The teacher is employed by the school and everyone else is a volunteer. The parent board of directors make decisions about the preschool's day to day needs and parents volunteer as classroom aides (usually 1-2 times per month). Working as a "Co-op" volunteer in the classroom gives you a discount on tuition, as well as being a wonderful opportunity to be a part of the classroom and participate in your child's day. All family members who work in the classroom must have a free background check on file with the preschool.

Humpty Dumpty offers a multiage preschool program for children ages 3-5 years. Our classes are held Monday-Friday, 9:00-11:30am, September-May and follow the Eaton Rapids Public Schools calendar. Parents may choose which days per week and how many days per week their child is ready to attend.

What is a Multi-Age Classroom?

Our multi-age program allows all children to find success at their developmental level. Younger children learn from older children by example and demonstration. Older children are role models in academic and social skills. A child in a multi-age classroom is able to develop over time within a supportive community according to their ability. As a result, they are able to lead their own learning. The result is a lfelong love of learning and a feeling of confidence.
